UNS — The Indonesian Language and Literature Education Study Program (PBSI), Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, launched the first session of its new education dialogue initiative, Dialog Pendidikan, Literasi, Bahasa, dan Sastra (Diklisa #1), or “Education, Literacy, Language, and Literature Dialogue.” The event took place virtually via Zoom on Friday (2/5/2025). It involved collaboration with the Indonesian Language Education Study Program (PBI), Faculty of Cultural Sciences (FIB), Unsoed Purwokerto. The Arfuzh Ratulisa Literacy Institute also joined as a partner.
The launch of Diklisa was a strategic initiative in support of the Kampus Berdampak (Impactful Campus) program. It aligned with Indonesia’s 2025 National Education Day (Hardiknas). As its inaugural session, Diklisa #1 laid a strong foundation for future educational and literacy collaboration. This program reflects a shared awareness of the importance of collective efforts in developing academic and professional capacities.
The session carried the theme: “Kampus Berdampak: Opportunities and Hopes in Welcoming Hardiknas 2025 for the Advancement of Education and Human Resources in Indonesia.”
Strengthening Educational Collaboration Through DiklisaDr. Raheni Suhita, M.Hum., Head of PBSI FKIP UNS, opened the event with a welcome speech. She emphasized the ultimate goal of education: to nurture intelligent, well-mannered, and socially responsible individuals.
“Education develops not only smart individuals but also those with strong character and broad knowledge. It also builds practical skills that help individuals contribute to society,” she said.
She also underlined the critical role of literacy in today’s digital era. In her view, with the abundance of digital information, the ability to evaluate and filter content is increasingly vital.
“It’s increasingly difficult to distinguish truth from misinformation, especially when falsehoods are presented attractively. Therefore, literacy is essential to help the younger generation filter what they receive,” she added.
Dr. Memet Sudaryanto, M.Pd., Head of PBI FIB Unsoed and moderator of the session, also conveyed his expectations.
“I hope this initiative continues on a regular basis and encourages wider collaboration. Our institution welcomes future cooperation, including seminars, training, and similar activities,” he remarked.
The 8-B Framework for Impactful EducationThe keynote speaker was Prof. Dr. Muhammad Rohmadi, M.Hum., a professor at PBSI FKIP UNS. He also founded the Arfuzh Ratulisa Literacy Institute and introduced the “8-B” framework. This concept outlines essential principles for creating impactful educational environments.
The first principle, berniat ibadah (intention for worship), encourages every action to begin with a sincere intention. He then emphasized the need to be bergerak visioner (being a visionary) and forward-thinking.
Next, he highlighted the importance of bersilaturahmi dan jelajah semesta (networking and continuous learning). According to Prof. Rohmadi, strong collaboration and constant knowledge exploration are vital for academic growth.
Furthermore, he advocated for bermitra untuk semua (inclusive collaboration), beraksi dan berkreasi (creativity in action), and berproduksi dan berinovasi (consistent innovation). These elements are crucial for transforming ideas into meaningful contributions.
He also emphasized the significance of berbagi dan bercerita (sharing and storytelling) in building human connections. Stories, he explained, help inspire and unite communities. The final element, berbahagia dan Sejahtera (happiness and well-being), serves as the foundation of all impactful efforts.
“Through these 8-B principles, we aim to become individuals who contribute not only to ourselves but also to others around us,” Prof. Rohmadi concluded. HUMAS UNS
