FEB UNS Student Selected as Capital Market Ambassador by Indonesia Stock Exchange

UNS – Abel Rizky Agustian, an Accounting student from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) at Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Surakarta, has been selected as a Capital Market Ambassador by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX). Abel secured third place in the 2023-2024 Capital Market Ambassador program in the Direct Education category on Saturday (9/11/2024). He was among the Top 10 Capital Market Ambassadors in the Direct Education category for the second quarter.

Participation in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Capital Market Ambassador (DPM BEI) program is open to university students who have completed the Financial Education Learning Management System (LMS) by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) and attended the IDX Capital Market School (SPM). These requirements ensure that participants possess a solid foundational understanding of financial markets. After meeting these prerequisites, the DPM BEI ambassadors are tasked with conducting educational outreach to various segments of the public.

When asked about his role as a Capital Market Ambassador, Abel shared that he is actively involved with the Investor Club at FEB UNS. Through this membership, he has conducted several socialization activities related to the capital market. Following his selection as an ambassador, Abel was also assigned by IDX to help spread awareness about the capital market to a broader society.

“My work program involves promoting the Capital Market Ambassador initiative to members of the FEB UNS Investor Club and encouraging their participation. Additionally, I assist the Indonesia Stock Exchange in conducting outreach activities on the capital market for the general public, university students, and high school students, particularly in collaboration with the IDX Central Java 2 Representative Office,” Abel explained to uns.ac.id on Wednesday (13/11/2024).

The evaluation for the DPM BEI program occurs quarterly and is divided into two categories: Direct Education and Social Media Education. The Direct Education category is assessed based on the total number of participants attending the educational sessions conducted by the ambassadors. Meanwhile, the Social Media Education category is judged based on the total views of the content posted on platforms like Instagram or TikTok.

“Evaluations are carried out every three months. For the Direct Education category, which I participated in, the assessment is based on the number of participants in the educational activities I organized with the FEB UNS Investor Club. Alhamdulillah, in the second quarter, we ranked seventh, and by the end of the year, we achieved third place,” Abel stated.

Abel also mentioned that he focused on enhancing his knowledge of the capital market and carefully planned and executed his work program. He received guidance from the IDX Central Java 2 Representative Office to help him prepare for his role as a Capital Market Ambassador.

Abel’s efforts as a Capital Market Ambassador reflect his commitment to promoting sustainable economic growth. His role aligns with the objectives of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly Goal 4 on “Quality Education” and Goal 8 on “Decent Work and Economic Growth.”
