Retraction: Larson et al., "Soluble {alpha}-Synuclein is a Novel Modulator of Alzheimers Disease Pathophysiology"

The Editorial Board is retracting the article “Soluble α-synuclein is a novel modulator of Alzheimer’s disease pathophysiology,” by Megan E. Larson, Mathew A. Sherman, Susan Greimel, Michael Kuskowski, Julie A. Schneider, David A. Bennett, and Sylvain E. Lesné, which appeared on pages 10253–10266 of the July 25, 2012 issue.

Concerns were raised about the integrity of some figures within the article, specifically Figures 1B and 5A, as well as in the associated correction (Larson et al., 2022). The University of Minnesota conducted an investigation and ultimately determined that these figures as published do not accurately reflect the research and cannot be considered reliable. Following the university’s recommendation, the Editorial Board has concluded that the article should be retracted.
